K27 News: Beijing-Pyongyang International Train Resumes

English translation and travel note, based on ETtoday and China Railway reports:

China and North Korea have reopened the international passenger train service between Beijing, Dandong and Pyongyang. The cross-border service resumed on March 12, 2026, after a suspension of roughly six years. The Beijing-Pyongyang service uses two international passenger coaches attached to train K27 from Beijing. After reaching Dandong, the coaches continue across the China-DPRK border and onward to Pyongyang.

The Beijing-Pyongyang international train runs in both directions on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. From Beijing, train K27 departs Beijing Railway Station at 17:26 Beijing time. After border procedures at Dandong and Sinuiju, the through coaches continue as connecting international services and arrive at Pyongyang Station at 18:07 local time on the following day. The total journey is about 25 hours.

Ticket sales are handled offline through designated international railway ticket offices. Reported fares exceed RMB 1,000 for some sleeper classes. Travelers should confirm current eligibility, DPRK visa requirements and tour arrangements before booking, because entry to North Korea remains highly regulated.
